Editing is done and things are about to happen says the Seacoast’s Mark Constance, who just completed a video of the Boston band The Charms (www.thecharms.net). Now he and local sidekick Rick Pickford of Widgetpix Studio in Dover are expecting big things, says Constance, who produced and directed the piece.
First, a big release party next month, hosted along with the Massachusetts Film Bureau. Invites were sent to MTV, Rolling Stones and the like, as well as regional and local press. "This band is ready to break on a national level. … We hope to take the ride with them," says Constance, who hooked up with The Charms’ manager back in ‘89, in LA "at a seedy sports bar." "A major label has been calling looking for the final edit. This week could be a big, huge week for us." "The (shoot) was the most perfect day I’ve ever seen," Constance says. "I worked on "Terminator III" and "Being John Malkovich," but it was nothing like putting this whole project together from square one." Initially another local was hired to edit and direct photography. When that fell through, Constance picked Pickford.
"There was incredible synergy between us. It’s like a divine intervention thing," says Constance. "It’s the start of something big for us in the future."
Currently the two are in talks with Anna Fair, another Massachusetts-based band.
